Scale Object
To access this dialog:
-
With wireframe data loaded, activate the Solids ribbon and select Edit | Scale.
-
Run the command 'scale-wireframe'
This command can be used to scale entire wireframe objects or partial wireframe data including selected triangles. Where part of a wireframe object is scaled, Studio will attempt to retain links, preserving the integrity of surrounding data. For example, if part of a volume is scaled, the result will remain as a closed volume.
Data must be selected before you scale it. Data can be selected with this dialog open.
Specify the required settings and click Scale to update the current view.
This command supports flexible wireframe selection.Field Details:
The following fields are available:
Scale By: specify the extent of the scaling here. Note that you will only be able to scale in the direction of the X axis if the Lock Axes check box is selected (see below) - in which case, scaling will be performed using the same aspect ratio for all axes. If this check box is cleared, you can perform non-uniform scaling (exaggeration) of the selected object.
Lock Axes: if selected, scaling will be performed in all directions. If cleared, you can apply non-uniform scaling by setting the Scale By values for each axis independently (see above).
Scale Around: by default, scaling will be performed around the center point of the view plane, however, you can also elect to scale about the volumetric centre of the selected object (Centroid) or by a specified point in 3D space (Point).
If Point is selected, you can either explicitly define an XYZ location for the scaling origin, or use the Data Picker button to pick a point in any 3D window that will act as the anchor point for rotation.
Scale: scale the selected wireframe data according to the settings above.
